The Stone Carvers / Stenristarna

Three hours that reveal the prehistory of Scandinavia: from the first hunters and farmers through the mysterious Nordic bronze age to the rise of the Vikings, we display craftsmanship and advanced technology. Modern science interpret the message of hundreds of thousands of rock carvings displaying strange connections to pharaohs and kings in the east Mediterranean lands. With advanced 3D graphics, the images raise from the cliff, performing histories after three thousand years.

An amazing discovery is revealed in the series: the renowned Scandinavian Bronze age is most likely a fraud. This magnificent peak in the arts and craftmanship of the Baltic region is probably a result of the area being a trading target for sea farers from the Mediteranean. The hunters and farmers of the north simply received their magnificent bronze and gold objects in exchange for amber and fur.

Review:
āA fascinating explanation of how simple hunters and farmers were seemingly able to produce art and weapons on a level only available in the Mediterranean. Like a CSI team, the filmmakers compare images and carvings from Greece and Egypt with rock art from Sweden, and the similarity is almost a hundred percent. The method to bring the rock art to life with computer animation is a smash hit.ā (Jonas Lundh / Aftonbladet)
