The Viking Saga / Vikingar I Väst och Öst

The series is a major presentation of the life and deeds of the Vikings - seafaring Scandinavians that raided and traded from today's Iran, along the Russian rivers, all over Europe and over the oceans to Greenland and America, five hundred years before Columbus. Here scientists from around the Viking world explains how modern international archaeology works, and illustrates the amazing discoveries about who the Vikings were and what they actually achieved, founding cities like Dublin and countries like Russia.

The production included shooting on location in Russia, the Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, England, Ireland, Iceland, Canada, USA, Sweden, Norway and Denmark. Leading scientists are Björn Ambrosiani/ Sweden, Richard Hall and Andrew Jones/ England, Ole Crumlin Pedersen/ Denmark, Tom McGovern/ USA and Evgenij Nosov/ Russia.

”This is Television when Television is at it’s best!” (Gunnel Törnander, Dagens Nyheter)

”A highly interesting series!” (Ulf Clarén, Sydsvenska Dagbladet)
